Terms and Conditions

1. Roof Painters’ written quotation shall be deemed to interpret correctly the Customer’s instructions whether written or oral and the Customer is accordingly advised to exercise due care in checking quotations. The customer has inspected the specification in detail and accepts that the scope and extent of the work allowed for by Roof Painters complies with and satisfies the customer’s particular requirements. Roof Painters will supply, fix and apply all materials and labour strictly in accordance with the specification. Any additional work not quoted for shall be carried out at the Customer’s expense. The term “quotation” shall include estimates for the purposes of these Terms of Trade. In paying the deposit amount you are approving of these terms and conditions and are agreeing to the quoted amount and description of works to be completed.

1. Property/Safety

1.1. In offering to carry out this work, Roof Painters undertakes to exercise all care in minimizing any possible damage to the customer’s property or to surrounding property. Should an accident occur with Roof Painters as the party at fault then we will fix the damaged property, we also have a comprehensive insurance policy should by chance an accident occur.
1.2. The health safety & welfare of all persons working on site is the foremost consideration for Roof Painters. To this end all responsible practical efforts must be made to create & maintain safe working conditions.

2. Payment Terms

2.1. Unless stated differently on the front page of this quote, the payment terms are as follows:
2.2. Deposits made on acceptance of contract are non refundable after 7 days of acceptance.
2.3. Payment is due on invoice from Roof Painters.
2.4. Payment of Roof Painters’ account including all additional charges is due in full (i) for Residential work upon receipt of invoice on completion of the work: and (ii) for Commercial work by the 20th of the month following the completion of the work.
2.5. Roof Painters reserves the right to charge interest on any overdue payments at the rate of 3% per month.
2.6. Severely overdue payments will get forwarded onto our dept collection partner and could affect your credit rating.
2.7. Roof Painters may at any time require security for payment and may withhold delivery until provision of sufficient security or Roof Painters may at its option suspend or terminate the contract and the payment of all materials delivered and work commenced up to the date of such suspension or termination and all moneys payable hereunder shall immediately become due and payable.
2.8. All costs and expenses incurred by Roof Painters in enforcing these conditions of sale including legal costs incurred in recovering any debts owed to Roof Painters by the Customer, shall be payable by the Customer.

3. Claims

3.1. Any complaints made about the standard of workmanship or the carrying out of this work shall be made in writing to Roof Painters at the email address stated on the front page of this quote within 10 days following completion of the work.
3.2. Prices quoted are subject to variations occasioned by any increase in the cost of the materials to Roof Painters after 2 months of the date of quotation. Therefore a quotation is valid for 2 months after which it may have to be revised.
3.3. Prices are based on our standard colour chart selections. Some colour selections may result in increased prices payable by the Customer following advice by Roof Painters.
3.4. No liability or obligation is entered into, whether regards to these Terms of Trade or any other way to any party not contracting with Roof Painters.
3.5. Failure by Roof Painters to insist upon strict performance of any term or condition herein shall not be deemed a waiver of any such subsequent breach of any term or condition. No provision herein to be deemed a waiver by Roof Painters unless such a waiver be in writing signed by Roof Painters’ authorized signatory.
3.6. Roof Painters accepts no responsibility for any authorities or approvals that may be required from third parties in terms of the materials or services covered by this quotation or subsequent contract.

4. Preparation and Paint Finish

4.1. All care will be taken to prepare the roof to the best of our ability and in line with paint manufacturers’ specifications. But very rarely issues do arise that are beyond our control (See below).
4.2. Finished roofs sometimes still have patchiness despite following all the appropriate steps. This can be due to the condition of the substrate, incline of the roof, critical lighting, or temperature of the roof when spraying. These conditions are outside of our control and we will not be held liable.
4.3. We do not protect the inside of the gutter from overspray. If you would like us to do so please advise us so we can charge you accordingly.
4.4. Old iron roofs suffer from rust if left without having regular professional maintenance. Although we use the best rust treatments, we cannot guarantee that rust will not reappear.
4.5. Roofs that have been painted without using the specified paint systems can break down. This often shows up after our pressure wash and/or final coats with paint delamination, blistering and the old paint film becoming unstable. This is an unforeseen occurrence and Roof Painters will not be held responsible.

5. Guarantee

5.1. Should the applied paint fail to provide the film integrity and adhesion detailed we will provide replacement paint to rectify the affected area upon presentation of the original invoice submitted for the project. This 10 Year warranty is only against flaking, blistering and peeling of the applied paint coating. Any flaking, blistering and peeling that results from an old previous coating delaminating from the substrate is not covered under this Guarantee. This Guarantee is transferable to a new owner should the property be sold within the expected life of the paint system provided the new owner holds the original proof of invoice. This warranty is a product only guarantee, any labour involved in applying product will be charged to the customer
5.2. In order for this guarantee to be valid the roof should be well maintained. This means regular washing of the roof surface (Minimum once a year) and repairing any obvious damage. This is to be carried out by Roof Painters themselves to ensure that the roof is washed according to Roof Painter’s specifications.
